always have a lighter with u just in case u see a confederate flag
thats illegal, you dumb fuck
“always have a gun in case you see a brown person”
why is my sentence any worse?Because one’s a person, and one’s a fucking piece of cloth, you shitkicking assclown.
Literally what it is like living in the south
Also it’s not illegal to burn confederate flags because they are not official flags and burning official flags is still legal actually.
I hate to break this to you but that is destruction of property.
You may not burn his Confederate flag,
You may not burn his Gucci bag.
You may not burn his Malcolm X hat,
You may not burn his Atlanta Braves bat.As far as burning your own flags, that is covered under city ordinance so it may be illegal without a permit or specific burn pit. Many give old flags to be burned to the fire department so they can do so safely (since in the US that is the preferred method of destroying a flag that has become dirty, worn, or otherwise not suitable for use. They sometimes even play Taps.
Nobody is talking about the concept of damaging property being legal, that much is obvious. Burning flags in particular is not illegal that I know of, as it’s typically protected under political speech or whatnot. City ordnances might regulate when/how you can burn flags, but they legally cannot tell you not to at all because that would be unconstitutional.
You’re not “breaking” anything to anyone. People desecrate and vandalize people’s property all the time. Not right, but not unheard of. That wasn’t the discussion.
Go back and read through that again. That was precisely the discussion. The OP stated to keep a lighter in case of Confederate flag.
You can burn your own stuff but depending on your city it will result in a fine. It doesn’t matter if it is free speech if it is a fire hazard without a permit. Free speech also doesn’t allow one to yell “fire” in a crowded theater as it can incite a panic if there is no fire.
Clearly I am breaking this to you. Please try reading through the entire thread next time.
You’re… still not breaking anything to anyone. Maybe someone needs to break it to you that it was a statement against the racism the confederate flag represents and nothing to do with damaging other people’s property for the sake of damaging their property.
If you seriously think OP and everyone reblogging it actually carry around lighters, finding confederate flags, and burning them like FUCK YEAH I’M DESTROYING YOUR PROPERTY SUCK IT then that sounds like a personal problem in critical thinking.
I find it really curious that in all of your educated glory you didn’t think it was necessary to point out that shooting people, especially based on their race / skin color, is extremely illegal and constitutes a hate crime, but you felt the need to educate us on the hypothetical situation of damaged property as if people don’t know damaging property is illegal.
